Mark Joachim, ArtistAbout the Artist

Since early childhood, I have always found a deep satisfaction in painting and drawing. I have always been known as "the artist" in my circle of friends. When I first started to notice how much people enjoyed my artistic talents, this feeling inspired me to continue. I actually began my professional career airbrushing vans in Florida many years ago. Surrealism and fantasy art were my first love, as you may see in one of my first published pieces – "Music is an Endless Road".

Throughout the last 20 years I have done well in freelancing commercial art. I specialized in cartooning, portraiture, and "boring" corporate identity, but most times felt that I was not "creating from within". My early fascination in artists such as Dali, the Wyeth family, Winslow Homer, and Church continued to be strong influences. When I dove into the fine art and framing industry a few years ago, I started studying the masters more intently and began creating different styles to find my true passion. I have also found tremendous artistic energy from my brother, Ric Joachim. He was a great talent in the Boston Area, working with the Boston Ballet and creating beautiful paintings for many years. His style also has gone from fantasy to realism without any noticeable morphing. My daughters and friends give me so many reasons to pursue my talents without question. I am grateful to so many people.

For the last 6 years I have devoted myself to creating landscapes in pastel and oils. This may change over time, but I see so much scenery and intensity in this world that I cannot let it go. I hope that you enjoy the art that you see, and will see in the future. More importantly – THE FUTURE.

Recent successful showings at Wente Vineyards in Livermore California, Ohlone Arts, MJ Schaer Gallery, years at Alameda County Fair and the KTEH auction have proven that time is well spent in my studio.
